Steve Aoki to Showcase ArcRunner VR Platform in Groundbreaking Venues Performance

Steve Aoki Supersphere

Supersphere will present a groundbreaking show by 2X Grammy Nominated producer/DJ Steve Aoki, showcasing the new VR live performance platform ArcRunner. Built by Supersphere, ArcRunner is a new virtual production platform that allows artists to create any environment imaginable for a performance. The show will air in the Venues app (available on the Oculus Quest) on Wednesday, September 30, at 6 PM Pacific. Fans can visit http://ocul.us/steveaoki to register.

ArcRunner gives artists unprecedented capabilities for creating scalable and immersive live music performances. Always in the vanguard when it comes to creating new fan experiences, Aoki has used ArcRunner to create a new world for engaging with his fans, creating an imaginary environment for him to perform in that’s constantly-shifting in response to the music and evokes the brilliantly colorful dreamscapes of artists like Haruki Murakami.

“I was floating in the sky amongst these beautiful colored pillars, as if I was DJing inside of a dream,” shared Aoki. “It was insane! I broke down the third wall and became a character within my own animated universe. I can’t wait to relive this experience and share the fantastical journey with my fans around the world. We’re breaking new ground and evolving the future of live performances.”

“We are all huge Aoki fans and being able to work with him at this level has been incredible,” noted Supersphere’s Lucas Wilson. “Steve and his entire team have been a joy to work with, and they are as into pushing the edge as we are. Ultimately, what we all want is to create a killer show for the fans. ArcRunner allows us to do that, at a price point and production schedule that works for artists and their teams.”
