Christine Ritchie on the 24/7 Life of a Supersphere Super Producer

Christine Ritchie

The Foo Fighters gear has long been packed up. The sound checks, camera tests and cordial conversations between band and crew are all over. Dave Grohl and company have been picked up by their chauffeurs, but that’s not where the work ends for Christine Ritchie, the latest producer added to the Supersphere team. Just as soon as the Foos rang out their last notes of their exclusive live Meta Super Bowl after party performance, Ritchie was already focused on where the gear goes for the next shows on the Supersphere production calendar.

Getting to spend two days with Foo Fighters was incredible. Being a part of the sound checks, rehearsals and a live show with them is something that I’ll never forget. But as soon as one is finished, the next one begins. It’s been an amazing journey with Supersphere where every week seems more exciting than the next.

The San Francisco-based Ritchie cut her teeth as a commercial line producer in Los Angeles. You’ve probably seen her work – her past production clients have included Porsche, Toyota and Virgin Mobile to name a few. But, a few years ago, her path diverted when she met Doug and Lucas from Supersphere and began doing some contract production work with the crew.

“Right away, they made me feel a part of the team. And it was really cool being a part of this team – everyone was supportive and creative. I knew it was a team I wanted to be part of full time. It’s been great so far. To work with these amazing artists in this emerging technology with people that I genuinely love…”

Ritchie’s ability to thrive in the high paced live production environment can be seen in full force when chatting with her. Woven in between Supersphere stories from the road, she shares tales of some more death defying personal pursuits, including skydiving and bungee jumping. “I love to go fast.” she quips at one point. “Maybe, that’s why I’ve found myself with this team in an emerging tech space. Our day-to-day developments are almost hard to keep track of. It’s so exciting to see what this team can create for VR users.”

Though it can be easy to look back and revel on recent projects, Ritchie stays focused on what’s next on the calendar, with some secret hopes that Paul McCartney or Metallica will be next for a Supersphere collaboration, but whatever it may be, Ritchie certainly feels at home at Supersphere. “It seems like forever ago when I first put on a headset to watch Billie Eiliish live from Governor’s Ball last year, but I’m focused on making whatever’s next even better. I’m excited to see where it leads.”
